MERRIWEATHER FRANKLINLead DesignerAs a well-versed Interior Designer of both residential and commercial spaces, Merriweather Franklin creates unique and colorful interiors that will have a positive impact on her clients’ homes and lives. Merriweather's considerable experience and wide customer base has afforded her the skill set and talent to design interiors that exceed her clients’ expectations. With an eye for quality, a superior sense of style, and a client-centered approach, Merriweather has proven herself as a dynamic designer. She offers a balance of color, texture, and patterns to create beautiful, yet functional spaces.
In her previous role as Manager of the Curator’s Office under Carleton Varney, President of Dorothy Draper & Company, Inc., Merriweather led large-scale commercial projects and partnered on residential projects at The Greenbrier resort. Notably, she assisted with the recent renovation of the Conference Center inside The Greenbrier. In her new position, Merriweather continues to manage both commercial and residential projects and acts as the liaison between Dorothy Draper & Co. and The Greenbrier. Merriweather also worked with Charleston, West Virginia based interior design firm, Pat Bibbee Designs, focusing on residential homes and commercial spaces throughout the state. During this time, she worked with many vendors to select and order textiles and goods for multiple projects, drew up floor plans, created story boards, and much more. Whether classic or contemporary, Merriweather balances colors, textures, and lighting to create a space that reflects her clients’ personalities and that suits their design requirements. She works closely with architects, contractors, furniture companies and artisans to create unique and beautiful spaces that are client-friendly and speak to specific needs. Merriweather graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University, majoring in Art History. Her passion for interior design comes from her many visits to The Greenbrier as a child, as well as the various homes, hotels and historic properties she has visited during international travels throughout her life. Merriweather’s love of art and antiques comes from growing up in a household filled with her father’s collections. All these experiences have allowed her to cultivate her skill of creating beautiful designs under a variety of budgets, styles, timeframes and needs. Her mission is to assist both residential and commercial clients in creating timeless and exciting spaces. |
ALYSSA ERSKINEProject ManagerOrganized, driven and focused, Alyssa Erskine will take your project from beginning to completion, making sure every step along the way meets the expectations of each client.
A lifelong West Virginia native, Alyssa is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves exploring the woods and waters of the Mountain State. A 2017 graduate of West Virginia University, Alyssa received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion, Dress and Merchandising, with an emphasis on sustainability and manufacturing. During the course of her studies, she completed internships at Personally Yours — a children's and women's boutique in Morgantown, W.Va. — and the retail department at Adventures on the Gorge in Lansing, W.Va. Upon finishing her studies, Alyssa immediately came to work at The Greenbrier, first starting with the annual PGA TOUR golf tournament at America's Resort, A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. Alyssa then moved into the marketing department, where she was able to use her organizational skills and her creativity to aid in the department's success. Along with her position with Greenbrier Interiors, Alyssa works alongside Greenbrier President Jill Justice. She is a Steering Committee member with The Greenbrier Concours d'Elegance and spearheads the annual Dream Tree for Kids charity project around the Christmas season. In her role as Project Manager for Greenbrier Interiors, Alyssa is able to combine two of her passions — America's Resort and design — into an exciting and rewarding position. Hill's design interests have long included the work of Dorothy Draper and Carleton Varney, who are responsible for the look and feel of The Greenbrier, and she combines many of those elements into her own design approach. Also an accomplished artist, Alyssa appreciates a simplistic design approach, using earth tones along with natural, sustainable design. Her goal is to bring the history of a client's family — or the history of The Greenbrier, another area toward which she is extremely passionate — into a project that matches the client's desires. She enjoys mixing classic styles with current day functionality. A lifelong West Virginian, Alyssa loves to work with Mountain State artists in her projects. Away from her career, Alyssa has a love for animals and outdoors. She and her husband Madison, a golf pro at The Greenbrier, manage a small farm with cattle, chickens, sheep and other animals. The couple resides in Lewisburg, where Alyssa has put her design skills to work in their first home. |
IRIS FRANKLIN |
SIENNA KOHLER CRISTOFOLI |
K-9 DesignIris Franklin is Greenbrier Interiors' very own designer dog. Growing up in a house full of antiques, she has learned that mahogany legs are definitely not for chewing. But as any good girl knows, that's why they make lavish stuffed toys!
Specializing in K-9 design, Iris is proficient in testing out performance fabrics and is always happy to help your furry friends spot the pawfect sofa or chair on which to spend those lazy days. Her taste in furniture gravitates to the more traditional and transitional side, mostly due to the fact she is all about comfort. While she appreciates a modern design, the streamline surfaces aren't too forgiving on her older joints. During the work day, you'll find her snoozing on her favorite sectional surrounded by colorful throw pillows. She enjoys long walks with her mom after a long day at work and is always happy to help in the kitchen, because food is her number one priority. With equal parts patience and loyalty, Iris is an important member of our team, and we hope she can help our clients, as well as their pets, feel right at home! |
CoordinatorSienna Kohler Cristofoli started at Greenbrier Interiors as part of an internship for her studies at West Virginia University. The Carrollton, Ohio, native fit in perfectly with the team, and when she graduated from WVU with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Architecture, she quickly became a full-time member of the team.
Sienna knew from the time she was young that she wanted to work in the field of design, so she was thrilled by the opportunity to work at The Greenbrier, a location known around the world for its design, and learn more about the Dorothy Draper style that made it famous. "I just really enjoy how happy it makes people when you design something that they love," she said. "I am interested in all types of design, but I do often gravitate towards historic preservation, unique forms of architecture, construction and spaces that are bright and full of life." Outside of the Greenbrier Interiors office, Sienna enjoys exercising, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. |
